And You are Talking About Increased Diversity in Hollywood; See who is set to play MJ? A white man.

How bizarre is it that a white man has been chosen to play pop legend Michael Jackson in a drama? I think it is truly shocking.

 Fiennes (Source AAP)

The late star is set to be portrayed in a one-off drama being made for Sky Arts by Joseph Fiennes, most notable of late for his role in the 'America Horror Story'.

Whats next, maybe Brad Pitt or George Clooney will be cast to play Obama soon in this bizarre Hollywood.

But guess what, its not just the actor that is based on a false premise, yea even the storyline of the drama is based on a lie. Apparently. It is based on a false story that MJ and two of his super star friends Marlon Brando (Star of the eponymous movie The Godfather) and Liz Taylor, rented a car to escape New York City following the 9/11 Terror attacks.

This story has been denied by the reps of the only living member of the alleged trio of super stars, Liz Taylor.

Of course as expected, black Hollywood is up in arms against this latest racial bias against black and minorities in Hollywood.

Corruption!! Only In Nigeria? I don't Think So!

Most of us think corruption is only found in Nigeria, but the latest ranking from the Transparency International's Corruption Perception Index, shows that that scourge is a truly global phenomenon. Even otherwise 'advanced' economies are still batling with it, so all hope is not lost yet for Naija! We are all work in progress with the likes of the US, UK, Russia etc. Yes, they are slightly better in the ranking but still are in the double digit category. Nigeria is 136th, UK 10th and US 16th. We go all get there!!

Public-sector corruption is still a major problem around the world but more countries are improving than worsening and the United States and United Kingdom have reached their best rankings ever, an anti-corruption watchdog has said.
Australia was ranked 13th, while New Zealand came 4th.
Denmark remained at the top of Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index, a closely watched global barometer, for the second consecutive year as the country perceived as least corrupt.
It scored 91 points out of a possible 100 while North Korea and Somalia remained at the bottom with unchanged scores of 8.
The index is based on expert opinions of public sector corruption, looking at a range of factors like whether governmental leaders are held to account or go unpunished for corruption, the perceived prevalence of bribery, and whether public institutions respond to citizens' needs.
The U.S. rose one spot this year to 16th place with a score of 76, tying with Austria.
The U.K. rose three spots to place 10th, with a score of 81 that tied it with Germany and Luxembourg.
The other top spots, from second to ninth, were occupied by Finland, Sweden, New Zealand, Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, Singapore and Canada.
Despite so many countries in the top 10, Transparency said there was still a lot of room for improvement in Europe and Central Asia, which it grouped as one region, saying "in low-scorers Hungary, Poland and Turkey, politicians and their cronies are increasingly hijacking state institutions to shore up power."
"It's even grimmer further down the index," the organisation continued. "In Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and others, governments are restricting, if not totally stifling, civil society and free media."
Russia sat in 119th place, tied with Azerbaijan, Guyana and Sierra Leone, although its score improved from 27 in 2014 to 29 in 2015, bringing its ranking on the list up from 136th place.
Brazil, in the midst of a massive corruption scandal at the state-owned oil company Petrobras, posted the biggest decline, falling 5 points to a score of 38 and dropping 7 positions to 76th place.
Transparency noted that in places like Guatemala, Sri Lanka and Ghana, citizen activists have "worked hard to drive out the corrupt."
"The 2015 Corruption Perceptions Index clearly shows that corruption remains a blight around the world," said Transparency head Jose Ugaz.
"But 2015 was also a year when people again took to the streets to protest corruption — people across the globe sent a strong signal to those in power: it is time to tackle grand corruption."
Overall, two-thirds of the 168 countries studied scored below 50 and the global average was 43.

Still, Transparency said it was a good sign that 64 countries improved their score while only 53 declined. The rest were unchanged.

My Rant

I am not an old man; maybe not so young, but I still remember very vividly my days in Secondary school. It was so different back then. People ACTUALLY spoke to each other! And we minded our business. Heck! We allowed people to mind their business!

You know where I am going with this right? These days even if you wanted to, you cannot escape being inundated with other people's business; yes plus the very private ones! I will give you a few familiar examples: XYZ flashes side boobs! (Hian!! Just side boobs o! Then see people knacking heads together analyzing or fighting over it. smh); XYZ shows off hot bikini bod!! (Ewooo!!! come and see!!!) The colour of thongs He bought for his third baby mama! The colour of the dress SHE wore to a dinner date with her husband! Mind you a private dinner o!

Don't even get me started on the 'neck down, eyes on glass' syndrome. A scenario: A couple is on a date. The only time they actually speak to each other is when they are ordering. While waiting for the order to arrive, each will have eyes on those magical devices; instagramming, twittering, facebooking and so on. If they are popular enough, this fact will then make it to the blogs and we will relive it, analye it, quarrel about it, make enemies with complete strangers over it; all in the comments section. Virtual reality, right?

Oh! The good old days!! As teenagers, we played games! Real games o! Not behind some screen with people who you don't even know if they have mouth odour (M.O)! Hmmmm.....M.O!! I remember our game of scrabble and Chess with some of my buddies back then. One had a dangerous case of M.O. And he can whisper for life!!!!! He always wanted to tell you something: 'for your ears only'. So you could not escape the M.O, even if you tried. Those are the experiences that enriched our childhood! Maybe plus the occasional 'neighbourhood gossip'. Which I think is what has evolved into today's craze; only now the gossip is shared on a global scale, by complete strangers and people you did not even know existed!

Just a Rant, its not supposed to make sense.
